Champagne R.C. Lemaire Rosé de Saignée

Genetics:

50% Pinot Noir, 50% Pinot Meunier

Nose:

Strong red berries aroma, with raspberries and strawberries at the forefront, citrus and toasted bread.

30 years

Harvest:

By hand, strict selection on the vine stock to obtain an optimal maturity, a natural high proof and blooming aromas.

Pressing:

Only the “first press” vintages are selected to produce our Rose de Saignée.

Ageing process:

3.5 years in our cellars

Fermentation:

The grapes maceration period varies with each harvest in order to ensure optimal aroma extraction and balance. The bleed is done when the red berries aroma is sufficiently extracted and harmoniously blended in the wash, creating the final tint of this wine so unlike many other rosé wines.

Dosage: 

6g/l.

Suitable with:

With its vibrant colour and elegant fruity taste, this is a great summer aperitif. However, the true surprise is how well this champagne compliments lightly grilled meats, fish, shellfish and even bleak roe.

Recent awards:

A very new champagne for the house, first release was the 2009 vintage.
